I'm 18 and I want to dance again. Is there a studio that I can still join at my age for jazz/hip hop?

I use to dance when I was 9-12 and was pretty good. I just want to find a dance team to dance good choreographed dances with for music..and not necessarily compete...is this possible? or am i too old?

just call a few studios and see what their average age of students are, and if they offer classes for students over 18.
18 is not old in the dance world so you should have too much of a problem finding something. I'm not sure where you live but there are a ton of studios by me.
Make sure too you don't call competition based studios cause they most likely will not have older girl classes and if they are they will be really really advanced. Unless you're up for that then go for it.
In Los Angeles there is a studio called Millenium Dance Complex, they soley teach to teach to anyone that's ready to improve. No age or level descrimination, no contracts, no month by month, you can go whenever you want, just fun and challenging classes. If you can find somewhere like that in your hometown that'd be the best for you.
again you are NOT too old! you are still very young. As long as your body can still do it there's no one stopping you.

I take ballet,tap,jazz,hip hop, and toe. Everyone laughs when I ay that I do them. What should i do?

I take ballet,tap,jazz,hip hop, and toe is I really like them but everone laughs at me when I say I do them. What should I do ignore them or quit. They make fun of me and it realy hurts my feelings. What should i do?
I also like them because it gives me good legs! hehe
toe is that weird funny looking ballet shoe and the other name for it is point..just FYI

it would be en pointe :] but who cares what they say, don't change for anyone. you love doing what you do and you shouldn't care what other people think. if you want to maybe you should talk to them and tell them how you feel and maybe they will understand and stop making fun of you. but you should definitely not quit! imagine how bad and upset you would feel if you did that. you would miss dancing and doing something you love and will be mad at yourself for caring what others think. and i hope these people aren't your so called "friends" because that's not a friend at all. but!, if they are your friends, then there should be no problem with them understanding that that hurts your feelings and they will stop. if they still continue to make fun of you after telling them it hurts your feelings, then forget them and find some new friends cause then those people really aren't your friends. but whatever you do, don't quit! it would really break my heart if you did. as a dancer, i know how upset i would be if i quit just because of other people's opinions. some people like to play softball, soccer, baseball, football, gymnastics, cheer leading....but you like to dance and theirs nothing wrong with that. maybe you can even show them some of your dances and you dancing en pointe, they will probably think its really cool and wish they could do that. good luck hope i helped! don't quit!
